When do Bed Bugs Usually Bite?
Bed bugs are active nightly when their victims are resting. Their bites are often painless, so you won’t wake up. The bed bug will feed for up to 10 minutes. Once they have had their fill, they return to their hiding place. Bed bugs are nocturnal, showing the most activity between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. However, they are able to alter their habits to feed on you whenever you are at rest.

Where do Bed Bugs Bite?
Bed bugs will bite any exposed skin that they can find. This may include your arms, legs, hands, feet, and your neck. They will even bite your face! You will commonly find their bites in lines or zigzag patterns. While bites on the face may a scary thought, there’s no need for concern about bed bugs crawling in your nose, mouth, or ears, which is a common worry. Bed bugs will find a better meal feeding on the surface of your body and prefer to hide after feeding.

Some people that are bitten by bed bugs will not notice at all. For the most part, however, their bites will be itchy and red. In severe, welts and rashes will form. While bed bugs do not pass on any diseases, it’s important to treat bed bug bites quickly to let them heal properly.
